Brian
Kellock
Brian Kellock is a pianist of international repute. This year he won ‘best
instrumentalist’ in the BBC Jazz Awards, and last year his CD ‘Live at Henry’s’
won best CD. He has an enormous command of the piano and a vast understanding of
different piano styles from Fats Waller to contemporary free piano.
He graduated with B.Mus.(Hons) from Edinburgh University in 1986 and since then
he has established himself as one of the top piano players on the British jazz
scene working with many leading musicians including Art Farmer, Sheila Jordan,
Scott Hamilton, Red Rodney, Charlie Rouse and James Morrison.
Brian is currently a member of James Morrison's "Hot Horn Happening" and his own
group The Brian Kellock Trio is one of Britain’s most exciting groups. He is
constantly in demand as a session player and side man to many of the world’s
best jazz musicians.
Brian was recently picked by Classic CD "as one of the 10 hottest pianist in the
World" and is generally regarded as "the best pianist in Britain today" by the
media and the public.
